Please enjoy these beautiful paintings of women in gorgeous and elaborate kimonos and headdresses in surrealistic, colourful settings of flowers, butterflies, and birds. They are the works of Haruyo Morita (森田 春代), a Japanese artist born in Kita-Katsushika District, Saitama, Saitama Prefecture, in 1945. She worked as a kimono painter until 1972. Her primary art subjects are women in kimono and idyllic settings.
Tan It Koon
Before retirement, Dr Tan It Koon was, among many appointments, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at SGH’s Dept of Pathology. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Theatre Trust and Chairman for Grants and Scholarships of the Spore Cultural Foundation. He received the National Day Awards, PBM, and PPA, for his contribution to cultural and community development and excellence in Public Administration.
