Posthumous Post
Today, I would like to introduce China’s 《Peasants’ Paintings》which depict a wide range of subjects: village and city scenery, fruits and farm products, customs, festivals, and activities of villagers and city folks. They differ pretty from the Vietnamese transparent watercolour folk paintings I shared. The Peasant Paintings use gouache (opaque watercolour), which is more colourful and brilliant. Please enjoy four paintings.
Tan It Koon
Before retirement, Dr Tan It Koon was, among many appointments, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at SGH’s Dept of Pathology. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Theatre Trust and Chairman for Grants and Scholarships of the Spore Cultural Foundation. He received the National Day Awards, PBM, and PPA, for his contribution to cultural and community development and excellence in Public Administration.
