Please enjoy several large handmade and hand-painted porcelain vases by master artisans from the Porcelain Capital of China, Jingdezhen, when I joined a tour of Jiangxi Province in China organised by Drs B Chen and HS Lim for a group of friends.
Please also enjoy these unusual woven, embroidered, lace, and printed square tablecloths I acquired as souvenirs representing the handicraft works unique to the places in different countries I visited during my travels.
Tan It Koon
Before retirement, Dr Tan It Koon was, among many appointments, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at SGH’s Dept of Pathology. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Theatre Trust and Chairman for Grants and Scholarships of the Spore Cultural Foundation. He received the National Day Awards, PBM, and PPA, for his contribution to cultural and community development and excellence in Public Administration.
