Please enjoy colourful, surrealistic paintings of wild animals created by Chinese American artist Jon Ching. Born on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Ching is now based in Los Angeles, California. He grew up around the wildlife that would later become the main subjects of his surrealistic oil paintings. His incredible depictions of tigers, parrots, wolves, and owls capture the wild, majestic beauty of the animal kingdom with a magical twist.
He attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, where he earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering. After a few brief experiences in the industry, he quickly realized it wasn’t his path and changed gears to pursue his creative passion for painting. Since then, Jon has been developing his painting process and technique and elaborating his visual language through his devoted art practice.
Tan It Koon
Before retirement, Dr Tan It Koon was, among many appointments, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at SGH’s Dept of Pathology. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Theatre Trust and Chairman for Grants and Scholarships of the Spore Cultural Foundation. He received the National Day Awards, PBM, and PPA, for his contribution to cultural and community development and excellence in Public Administration.
