The mid-Autumn Festival is here, and I want to see and capture part of it while it is still around. So, I went out yesterday to look for it. The prominent place to go is Chinatown. But I did not go there; I went to Gardens by the Bay instead, looking for something different than street decor.
As usual, it was a lonely journey. Just me and I only. It was a hot, humid afternoon, but the sky was not blue—a disappointing colour of pale grey blue. A thin, pale greyish cloud hid the sun. There was no strong sunlight like the usual hot afternoon, but the heat was still around. But it was made cooler with the large greenery landscape there. It is an enjoyable and beautiful place away from the busy streets of Singapore.
It was surprising that there were free packet drinks given out to visitors. Maybe it was a commemoration of LKY’s 100th birthday month as the packet of drinks bearing his face on the box—a memory of our great visionary.
Photographs are a good collection of memories of places and people we have met. But digital photography is more than that now. It has become an art. It is an expression that can be created to express your imagination and is no longer restricted to simple photos just for keeping memories.
It is an excellent hobby to embark on. You can now create a photo of your dream. It is a new skill, a new way of expression with photography.
