Please enjoy two oil paintings by my old friend and artist from north-eastern China’s Liaoning Province, Luo Hong (or Luo Ding). One painting shows a beautiful waterfall. Another shows the snow-covered Phoenix Tower and the ancient palace grounds in Shenyang city. It was the palace of Huang Taiji (of the Manchurian Tribe), who was the Founding and First Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. When the Emperor moved to Beijing, this palace served as a palace for a short stay whenever the Emperor returned to Shenyang. From 1926, different buildings of the palace were converted to become a museum. In 1961, the Palace Museum was listed as a World Heritage Site.
