Please enjoy several unusual paintings, each on several layers of glass, to achieve a 3D effect.
The artist is Jean-Pierre Weill, born in Paris, France, in 1954 (age 68 years). Over 20 years ago, he struggled to make ends meet and needed to decide whether to stick with his dream of supporting his family as an artist or going out and getting a 9-5 job.
While sitting in his studio one morning, he had a fantastic idea. He called his wife (an artist) and told her about this idea – painting on multiple layers of glass. The following week, he took the first few pieces he experimented with to an art show, and they were surprisingly sold out. Each painting comprises several layers of glass separated by interior frames. The depth helps to create a feeling of hide-and-seek while the light and shadow create the illusion of movement.
