I have been fond of travels and visiting new places. I am so glad that I managed to travel to some of the furthest places when I was still young, in good health, and able to take long walks and climb mountains. The first opportunity came when the International IFCC Congress was hosted by Brazil in 1984. It was a long trip to Rio de Janeiro, and I had to break the journey in Los Angeles. A few years before Covid-19 struck, I took a trip to South America to visit Peru, Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil. During my visit to Peru, my trip to Machu Picchu ( World Heritage site), taking the world’s highest railway ride on the Oriental Express at the scenic Andes mountain range, and visiting floating homes on reeds at Titikaka Lake, were most memorable. A tour highlight was two days of walking and boat tours of the “Iguazu Falls.”
This spectacular waterfall is one of the world’s most beautiful places. It is located near “Tres Fronteras”, where the Iguazu River enters the river of Parana, and the national borders of Argentina, Basil, and Paraguay come together. Visitors can enjoy amazing views from the Argentinian and Brazilian sides. Please enjoy its fantastic views from the two photos forwarded
I came across an oil painting featuring the unique scene of the waterfall with a number of the most well-known native wild birds, toucans with colourful feathers and large beaks, as well as the largest species of parrots: the blue and yellow macaws and red and green macaws. I could not resist acquiring the artwork as the most appropriate souvenir for my trip. Today is the first time I have unwrapped the painting to view and take photos since I brought it home. Please enjoy the beautiful view of forests and wildlife at the Iguazu Falls.
