Please enjoy two bright and beautiful still-life oil paintings of fruits in my collections. The painting featuring mixed fruits was created by my long-time good artist friend from Shanghai, Lu Ting, whose paintings of grapes received much admiration and praise for their outstanding realism and beauty. His grape paintings are always the earliest to be acquired by discerning art lovers at exhibitions of his artworks. At his invitation and insistence, I would stay with his family at their centrally located high-rise apartment whenever I could visit Shanghai. We enjoyed seeing the gardens, parks, and water villages near Shanghai.
Another oil painting featuring an overflowing basketful of delicious and fresh-looking red apples brings an instantaneous cheerful and lively ambience to any room where it is displayed.
Tan It Koon
Before retirement, Dr Tan It Koon was, among many appointments, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at SGH’s Dept of Pathology. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Theatre Trust and Chairman for Grants and Scholarships of the Spore Cultural Foundation. He received the National Day Awards, PBM, and PPA, for his contribution to cultural and community development and excellence in Public Administration.
