Let me introduce to you the Art of Doodling. Born in Kent, England, in 1994, Sam Cox is better known as Mr. Doodle. He describes his drawing style as “Obsessive Compulsive Drawing.”
The artist has rocketed to fame on the back of his eponymous doodles. Over the past year, the 27-year-old artist’s vast, interlocking compositions have propelled from the Instagram explore page to auction houses and beyond. A prime example of Cox’s work is his limited-edition prints from his “Pop Heart” series released by Pearl Lam Galleries on November 18th. The artist’s works transcend beyond the canvas, invading furniture, books, clothing, and more. He has collaborated with iconic brands, including Fendi Puma.
His works have amassed nearly US$4.7m in auctions in Asia and elsewhere in just over nine months.
Tan It Koon
Before retirement, Dr Tan It Koon was, among many appointments, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at SGH’s Dept of Pathology. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Theatre Trust and Chairman for Grants and Scholarships of the Spore Cultural Foundation. He received the National Day Awards, PBM, and PPA, for his contribution to cultural and community development and excellence in Public Administration.
