I would like to introduce a very talented landscape artist from South Africa and the unique scenery of his country featured in his oil paintings. He is Jacobus Hendrik Pierneef (1886 – 1957) from Pretoria, generally considered one of the best of the old South African masters.
His distinctive style is widely recognised, and the South African landscape greatly influenced his work. He hated the English system of artwork, widely known as the education of art. He advocated for all South African artists to follow their style and make a particular set of rules for themselves. He always followed his heart and new ideas.
