Please enjoy some unique acrylic paintings by an American colour-blind artist. His name is Michael Patterson. He was born into a family of painters in Hudson, New York, in 1953. Patterson studied art and graduated with honours, studying printmaking, painting, and sculpture.
His paintings feature varied scenes of people at the seaside or in the park. He has been traveling and painting for over 35 years, finding inspiration wherever he goes. For several years, he lived in France and exhibited his work throughout Europe and the United States.
He draws inspiration from city streets, people at the beach, people playing music, and general human expression. He has developed a style of painting truly individual to himself.
Notice how Patterson deliberately creates “shadows” in his paintings and how he treats and gives importance to “shadows” add a further dimension to his paintings and make them more exciting and unique.
