would like to introduce another paper artist with very different style from the Japanese artist, Mr. Riu. Patrick Cabral is a freelance Art Director based in Manila, Philippines. He is known for his work in typography and papercutting, applying traditional craft skills and sensibility to create contemporary and cutting-edge work.
Multiple layers of paper with varied and intricate cut patterns are superimposed to form images of the world’s most threatened animals, birds, and insects. Cabral has also created colourful masks.
Tan It Koon
Before retirement, Dr Tan It Koon was, among many appointments, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at SGH’s Dept of Pathology. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Theatre Trust and Chairman for Grants and Scholarships of the Spore Cultural Foundation. He received the National Day Awards, PBM, and PPA, for his contribution to cultural and community development and excellence in Public Administration.
