Please enjoy the amazing paper artworks created by cutting papers into different sizes and patterns, into small pieces, and then combining them in single and multiple layers.
Rogan Brown (1966) is a British artist based in France well-known for his signature assemblages consisting of tiny little paper shapes meticulously combined into meaningful pieces. His works explore the architecture of natural forms – like cell division (under the microscope view), colorful coral gardens, insects, shells, and human organs.
He starts with drawing each shape, then cutting the pieces by hand or laser, coloring by hand, and combining them into their final form. This process requires massive effort and attention to detail. Scientific illustration and model-making inspire his intricate paper sculptures, some of which take up to 5 months to complete. Nature is always at the center of Brown’s works.
